Wimbledon Ladies Final

Serena Williams proved her strength, skill and experience on the court against a newcomer, Vera Zvonareva.

Good game on Wimbledon's Centre Court - short, with some powerful shots and moves from both. And what a pleasure to see the champion Martina again.

Wimbledon Ladies Final - despite some grunting, what a welcome change from the testosterone on the soccer fields, the revolting spitting, the involuntary though totally unattractive sweating, and the constant falling on the ground clutching arms, legs, heads, faces ...... Still, entertaining viewing, especially with Germany one up on Argentina at half time. Wonderful understatement from commentator about Maradona clutching his head over the disallowed goal - "He's got a headache".  I'll say. "Don't cry for me Marg and Tina".

Soccer 3rd Quarter Final played at the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town.  Germany thrashed Argentina 4 - 0.  What next!

Later: Spain with those fabulous uniforms beat Paraguay 1 - 0.  They deserved to win just for the colour of their uniforms :)
