Wordsmith is the professional arm of House of Bee Sting. It is for Ebooks, business editing and for editing at university level, as well as original writing for businesses, charity organisations, etc.

Services include book reviews, editing of university theses and dissertations, plus online editing of web sites and portals, virtual environment quality assurance, and much more. Future plans for publishing will fit in here as well.

What I apply my services to -

As regards printed work: I edit doctoral and masters theses for university students, and have also worked in an ad hoc capacity for a publisher that published magazines and books for the building trade.

I’ve also done a few booklets and pamphlets for two charity organisations, and some commercial work, e.g. a small piece for a new shopping centre, plus book reviews and book editing.

As regards virtual environments, I have an understanding of the publishing industry in general and am happy with the process; I also have an understanding of the web environment, and in work previously done for a large corporation (on one of their web portals) I would check links, logic, navigation, etc, not just content on the “active content area.

Separate from this, I am a published author so could also offer original writing if that is required, over and above editing, linking themes, ensuring work is readable, etc.

I undertake the process in stages so that changes can be done in parallel, which helps companies with their production schedule

Rates (subject to adjustment depending on Rate of Exchange but rates below were applicable at the time of updating this site):

1.For editing of Doctoral and Masters theses (hard copy):

R30 (£3.00; US$4.00; Euro 3.00) per typed A4 page; two proofs. Additional editing: Cost to be discussed.

For editing of other work: Charity organisations – usually free of charge.

•Commercial endeavours – some free of charge, others subject to discussion.

For original writing:

Charity organisations – usually free of charge.

Commercial endeavours – subject to discussion.

•For virtual environment:

Per ZAR100/hour (£9.00; US$14.00; Euro 10.00/hour) or once-off fee per job

•4. Book reviews: Fee to be negotiated per job.
