Get-this-Now: Wellness Tip 3/8 Shape up, have fun, give back

Gardening - in your garden or someone else's - is a great way to shape up. So is walking - get out, walk with friends, with a buddy, join a walking club. Why not go on a walking holiday - it's a great way to explore a country, and to give your legs a fabulous tone up.

Do some voluntary work, spend more time playing with the kids or your pets, take up action cricket, get those bikes out the garage and peddle yourself into shape.

Remember to safeguard your skin - drink water steadily (at least 2 litres a day, more when you're exercising); increase your "high water" food intake (salads, fruit, veg), and avoid dehydrating beverages such a traditional tea, sodas.

And don't forget to do the basics - cleanse, tone, moisturise, wear a good sunscreen (SPF 15), and re-apply it often. Avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm. Spritz regularly. Wear a floppy hat to keep the heat off your head. Wear loose clothing to allow perspiration to evaporate naturally - Top tip: use body deodorant instead of antiperspirant - you need to perspire.
